Un Mouton Rothschild 2012 de couleur dense,opaque,presque noire.Le nez est noble,complexe et expressif avec des notes de cassis et de mûres.L’attaque est somptueuse, ample et charnue. Les tanins sont mûrs, croquants et enrobés d’une belle chair, dense et ferme, dévoilant des arômes cacaotés et vanillés.La bouche mène vers une magnifique finale,fraîche,puissante et minérale.Une réussite.JMQ

On ne peut pas le manquer au nez tant il y a un retour de la note fumée comme jamais depuis 2001. La bouche manque de puissance. Le Château Mouton Rothschild 2012 glisse sans angle sur un bel éclat fruité avec du goût. Notez que la décantation durcit le vin en renforçant le tannin en finale. Il est donc meilleur non décanté. Mais ce millésime manque de hauteur. Vous pouvez le goûter tant qu'il est sur le fruit sinon attendre 2019 et avant 2032
Tasted at the Mouton-Rothschild vertical in London, the 2012 Mouton-Rothschild clearly has the upper hand over the 2011, if not quite at the level of the 2009, 2010 and what I envisage will be the 2015. There is obviously greater fruit intensity here, as if the contrast has been dialed up a couple of notches. It is quite showy on the nose, preening in its infancy with pure black cherries, graphite and hints of cold slate-like scents, later that hint of seaweed I observed when tasted blind a few months earlier. The palate is beautifully balanced with great vim and vigor. This is a Mouton that will not be put down - vivacious, vivid and delineated with wonderful focus and crucially, impressive persistence on the finish. Do not underestimate this Mouton-Rothschild 2012, because I can see an upswing as it matures in bottle. Tasted April 2016.Neal Martin
